Hi,
I have a 3g 10 gig iPod and....,
I bought the iPod Dock Connector to USB 2.0+FireWire cable today. Using the USB 2.0 to sync through the PC and FireWire to recharge from AC. My AMD Athlon with Windows XP reconized the USB and all went well.
Now my problem.
When I 'eject' my iPod from within Itunes the HD on the Pod keeps spinning. The base became quite warm. I had to physically disconnect the USB cable for it to stop.
I bought the USB/FireWire Dock Connector to aleviate my previous issue of swapping my FireWire cable around,(ie reaching behind my computer, etc). Using just the FireWire cable/swapping method works well albiet the swapping.
What I want to do is use the USB 2.0/Fire Wire cable to sync and charge. I'd like to 'eject' the iPod from within iTunes and just remain in 'recharge mode' without the Ipod heating up.
One other note. When using the USB 2.0/Fire Wire cable. After I eject the screen, the Large Check-Mark with.. 'Ok to Disconnect' comes up and the upper right corner battery meter animation is playing out. As opposed to when I have just the FireWire cable hooked directly to the Ipod then the 'fullscreen' animation play's out till fully charged.
Is the Ipod charging regardless of what animation is displayed?
tia,
Jerry
