first of all, happy new year to everyone

Okay, I need a new case to protect my lovely ipod in 2004.
What I want to know is:....is the leather on the vaja cases grippy or slippery???
I want a case that will let me keep my ipod in my trouser pocket. At the moment I'm using an exo which makes the ipod feel a bit more bulky, and doesnt slide into my pocket nicely cos of the rubber material.
The zip case from lajo slides in and out easily, and is also quite thin. But the vaja cases look so special.

I have the Vaja iVod in CB/CB without clip and a 3g 40g. I'm very impressed with the iVod's fit/finish.

The leather is pliable like a soft leather sofa or bomber style jacket. Not hard and stiff as in cowboy boots or a belt. It definitely not 'grippy' like an iSkin (have one), but it's not slippery (like the iPod itself).

As to bulkiness, I measured the iPod unit to be ~19mm thick. With the iVod, it is 25mm thick (bottom of case), and 28mm (top of case). The iPod is very tough to get out of the case (but slips in easy enough). It's (iPod) so slippery that you have to push it from the bottom, through the dock port of the case, to make it slide out.

I bought the iVod for general all around protection (when not needing a clip i.e. laying on the desktop, in a jacket pocket, travel bag, etc.). I'm debating either a Vaja 'Classic' with a clip or some type of 'sport case' for trips to the gym, etc.

Haven't been too impressed personally with the silicone cases after having the iSkin Exo, but it is 'less bulky'.

HTH.
