Ok, i got my 3rd gen ipod a while ago, and i got the DLO jam jacket, which was a big mistake because it doesn't cover the screen, so when ever i put it in my pocket it get scratched up, and i get really frustrated...and yes i have looked at those films for the iPod, but i only found one for the old iPod, because those idiots at DLO haven't made one for the new iPod, and i am thinking about getting that contact paper stuff that they have available for Palms. but it won't look very clean, i can't stand to see my investment scratched......

any suggestions????

PS: oh yeah i have thought about putting it in a little pouch, but that jam jacket is so frickin grippy it is a pain...

The palm protectors work quite well. You just have to make sure to get them applied correctly. One way I've heard suggested (havn't had a chance to try it) is breathing on the ipod screen so that it gets fogged up, and then put the pda screen protector down and "float" the bubbles off. I'm sure you can get it on without bubbles if you do one edge at a time and use something such as a stiff piece of cardboard or maybe even a credit card to smooth it out (be careful though).

Another thing you might be able to do is order a Maclear zip case from lajo.biz that fits the normal ipod and see if it'll slide down into the DLO jam jacket (i think it should as it's so thin). It'll cover the whole ipod while inside of the jam jacket... so two layers of scratch protection.

I think you can get them at http://www.lajo.biz/maclear

Another thing you could do (which would be sorta cheapish looking) would be to stretch some saran wrap across the top half of the ipod. It wouldn't look great but it'd work probably.

Overall I'd either use the PDA screen protector or get a Maclear zip case.

I use those screen protectors for PDAs like WriteRight or something like that. It works very well with no bubbles and provides good protection for the screen.

I have the Pod Shields which will be perfect for your Jam Jacket...They are these stickers that stick to your iPod through high static and will protect your Ipod screen from any scratches....U can find them on ebay...They also come with shields to protect the back of your iPod too.

dumb question, but has anyone ever taken off the screen protectors? does it do anything to the screen like leave stickiness?

I just removed the PDA screen protector to find out and there was no stickiness at all. They are very easy to apply (just did it) and leave no bubbles, either.

WriteRight makes a super thin, super clear sheet for a Sony PDA.

I got a package at Best Buy and they work great,,,very easy to put on...just need to trim a bit off the top and once its on no need to replace it..mine's been on for 4 months.

They make some for Palm but they have a rough surface used to provide a better surface for your stylus.....but these Sony ones are much clearer than a ishade or whatever that is that comes w/ exo's.

yeah i've got two little bubbles stuck at the very top of mine, not even on the screen. and i can't get them out because it won't curl around the edge and off. doesn't bother me though

good to hear it won't kill my screen.

my friend has a JamJacket, and I have an iSkin exo2. The hard plastic screen protector doesnt scratch the ipod and it is very clear and easy to see through. My friend thinks his DLO JamJacket is better than mine, but he can never find reasons why
