Cover Flow- Sort by Album?

I have always sorted my music library by album title, rather than by artist. (Indeed when I play with Cover Flow on my Mac, it is always sorted by album.) Thus I am a bit annoyed by the fact that my iPod touch is sorting albums in cover flow by artist.

Is there any way to make Cover Flow sort by album?

I find this whole thing particularly annoying when it is a compilation album, for the CD is listed under the first artist's name... which would not even be correct for the entire album! :o

Unfortunately, there is no way to sort it unless you rename all the artist name to the album name, which is the only workaround until Apple fixes it, or if it gets a setting addition from a hack.

I don't think you can change the sort order in Cover Flow on the iPod, but you can fix the problem with compilations.

The Album Artist field allows you to specify the nominal artist for the album. For compilations you could use "Various" or "Various Artists". Cover Flow will use the Album Artist field in preference to the Artist field. This means that the Artist field can keep identifying the artist for the individual track.
