I'm trying to decide what kind of case to get for my new iPod nano. I previously had an iSee by Contour and thought it offered great protection but added bulk to the already bulky 4th generation iPod. I'm just an everyday user who won't be treating my iPod roughly, but just want good protection while it's in my pocket or bag. Any recommendations on what type of case I should get (i.e. leather, hard plastic, silicone, etc.) If you want to post your opinions of what case material you like the best, that would be great.

I have a white switcheasy biscuit at the moment, but I've found a big problem. My Shure headphones have a jack on them which is too big to fit, and although they include a small extension cable, mine's already starting to break.

What cases should I wait for that will accept such a big headphone jack?

Well that isnt an issue with the Nano, now is it?

It weighs next to nothing compared to a full sized iPod.

I am getting a hard case for sure. Any bulk that a hard case would add would be negligible given the size of the 3G Nano. I actually prefer it as it is makes it more obvious when it is and when it is not in my pocket.
Plus the added width makes it harder for it to have any flux should it be sat on or bent while its being carried.

For pocket use, I prefer a clear hard plastic case. I think the nano is beautiful, and I like to be able to see it.

I like the silicon cases because they don't scratch. Marware and iSkin have the best ones.

I used to always go for clear hard cases, as I don't want to spoil the look of my iPod, and it provides good protection. However, they're never scratch proof (or even slightly resistent) and the screen on the case ends up getting scratched. I then found myself getting some kind of other case (like an iPod sock) to keep it in, which was just getting silly!

Now I always go for the clear film stuff. I have an invisibleSHIELD on order. Whilst it won't provide impact protection, it should keep it scratch free and won't spoil the look (provided it's installed correctly!).
