Just wondering. Reading plenty of posts about synching and charging problems, am wondering if it's a Windows OS problem or USB problem. I remember I couldn't synch my 4G iPod through any of my USB connections on my XP machine, had to fork out money to get firewire connections and it synched perfectly.

Now with a MacBook my 1G Nano synchs like a dream. Users with Touch problems, can you tell me which operating system you are using. Cheers!

I think it might be the iPod touch/itunes drivers, it uses a new driver. all older ipods did not use one, I think this has to do with that the touch and the iphone are running a OSX and had to be done this way. I am sure it will get better over time...

I agree. I think it is a driver issue, especially where Windows Vista is concerned (for me at least). I returned a week 38 iPod Touch a couple of days ago because of frequent crashing while playing videos. It was exchanged for a week 40. While the week 40 does better, it is still not perfect. I was able to sync 8 music videos at once, and only 2 would crash. Much better than every video crashing on my week 38. Re-syncing the videos corrected the problem. For full length movies, it doesn't work so well. I tried syncing The Italian Job that I purchased from iTunes, and no matter how many times I would sync it, it would crash within 30 minutes or so.

Then I found this thread, and decided to take Windows Vista out of the equation. I copied the video file onto a friends PC that is running Windows XP SP2, installed iTunes, and transferred the movie to my iPod Touch. No problems. The movie plays from beginning to end without even the smallest hiccup.

It seems as if Vista will transfer files to the iPod Touch OK, as long as you don't try to transfer a large amount all at once. For example, my music videos are about 40MB each. Transferring them one at a time will allow them to play on my iPod Touch without crashing, while transferring all of them at once will give a couple of them problems. I figure its the same thing with the 1GB+ Italian Job file. It's just too much for the Vista driver to handle, and it causes some corruption during the transfer.

Hopefully, new drivers will be released that will correct this problem.
