It gets on my nerve when people say "iTouch", for some reason. It's called the iPod Touch, not the iTouch. Anyone else find this irritating?

I get annoyed, I also get annoyed whenever people say ipod, Ipod, IPod, itunes, Itunes, ITunes, etc. The iPods always have a lowercase i in front of them followed by a capital P. Their classes (like the iPod nano or iPod touch) are always lowercase. So the official name is the iPod touch. Not the iTouch, ITouch, itouch, ipod touch, IPod Touch, ipod Touch, etc.

I hate the misuse of real words more. I particularly hate when people use the word "loose" instead of "lose", as in "I hope I don't loose my iPod". That drives me insane! And I don't think most of them are typos. It happens all too frequently.

people don't realize that there is even a new ipod, so i guess they just assume its the iphon becuase apple hasn't advertised the hell out of touch like they did with the phone

I used to call it the 'iTouch' when (and right before) I got mine, but it started to annoy me seeing others start to call it that (go figure!) so I simply call it the 'Touch' or 'iPod touch' now. A previous post in this thread mentioned the many spelling variations of how people say it (like iPod Touch and IPod touch), but I think minor capitalization issues are a little too nit-picky. Yes, its officially 'iPod touch', but not capitalizing the "P" in iPod (or the "T" in touch when it should be lowercase) isn't the same as calling it an iTouch (or an iPhone), two things the iPod isn't.

Not as much as the the whole thing when people tried to call the iPod with Video the "vPod"

I hate it when people say itouch. I hate it even more when people say cool iphone.

Then theres this one kid that says my ipod touch is just called the "i" because its the iphone minus the phone.

While I think calling the iPod Touch the iTouch is a little annoying, I think we should maybe call the whole iPhone/iPod touch platform iTouch, just so we don't have to say 'iPhone/iPod Touch' when referring to both at the same time.

As someone mentioned above, iTouch is a registered trademark of Logitech for the software used to program their keyboards.

But if someone called your Cadillac a Lexus, would you get angry or would you just recognize they are ignorant and have no idea what they are talking about...

My iTouch works perfectly. I wish I could interface it with a keyboard.

Why would Logitech want to use Apple's cool name?

Why would Logitech want to use Apple's cool name?

1. Logitech has been using iTouch for years.

2. If you must persist your fantasy that iTouch is somehow Apple's name, please point to supporting documentation where Apple uses that name to describe the iPod touch.

3. Have a good day.

i kind of like the name itouch
its easier to type and i hate calling an ipod by 2 names
ipods arent supposed to have a first and a last name
kinda like Cher, Bonno, Prince, iPod,
i would never call an ipod nano by its full name i just call it a nano
itouch dose however get annoying after hearing it so many times in one day
but the thing that gets me mad the most is when people call an ipod a mp3 player
that gets me so mad
or when people call any other mp3 player a ipod
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
don't people see that i as well as almost everyone here paid a premium to be able to call the dam thing an ipod
its like calling a helio mobile device a phone!!!!!
GRRRRRRRR!!!!!
or like calling a iphone a smartphone!!!
hehehe
i love my smartphone and until iphone gets Office, Numbers, Pages 2, Or keynote it is not a smartphone
sorry but thats my opinion

Do you like it whenever people call you Fo instead of Fossie? A product has a name for a reason. I don't go around calling cars "ars" or "ca," products have their names so that people can call them by that. We get the point whenever people call their iPod touches the iTouch but that isn't the product name for the iPod. Logitech has released some products under the iTouch name so they are essentially asking for help with Logitech products, not the iPod touch.

Nope, doesn't bother me as I often refer to it as that anyways. Just easier to say and people do recognize it even those that don't have one. I abbreviate all kinds of things, even my car. :p

I only heard one person say it. He said the touch or itouch, can't remember which, but I did experience a visceral reaction. I don't know why. Very strange.

That's the thing. I abbreviated automobile with car. Technically speaking, the iTouch is a Logitech keyboard so anytime anyone mentions an iTouch, they could potentially be talking about a keyboard. It is unlikely but still. iPod touch dammit.

Mine is called an iTouch. That is what I call it...that is what I refer to it when I speak to others.

I personally think that people should be able to call their possessions whatever they like. It's pathetic to argue over it, and I really don't see why anyone gives a damn.

Find something else to do with your time.

Heh heh I agree. There are some nutcases on this thread who want to dictate what others can call their device!

Yes, but it annoys me most when I say it.

It's bad enough when I say it wrong (it's very infrequent at this point) but it's even worse knowing what it sounds like.
