was talking to a apple associate today and they told me nothing on the back of the box is associated with weeks in any way.....i dont know if i absolutely believe him..but now that i think of it...who came out with that 'theory' anyway???

The serial number on the iPod does have the week of production per:

Put the serial number of your iPod in the space provided and it will give you information about it.

Also, the newer iPod touch boxes have Macy Gray on the front covers while the older ones had some different artist. So you have the picture on the front to give you a very general idea and the serial number on the back to give you a precise week of production.
