You need to first install iTunes on your computer. You will need a 32-bit emulator in order to do so, I believe Windows Vista x64 (ie 64-bit) ha sit built-in but I could be mistaken. Try downloading and installing iTunes, then open iTunes and plug your iPod touch in.

itunes is not supported in x64 vista or xp, what I did was to load VMWare and run a virtual machine of XP 32 bit.
kind of suck to have to do that, but it works for now till apple gets off there lazy butt and supports x64

Unfortunately a large number of vendors haven't supported x64 yet. However Microsoft is making it a requirement moving forward. It's just a matter of time.

I thought Windows Vista/XP x64 had 32-bit software emulators on them. Can't you right-click on a file then go to properties and change the compatibility of it? I am not sure as I can't run an x64 version of Windows Vista/XP so I can't check.
pbure0110, you need to go to www.itunes.com in order to download iTunes. The only problem is that it won't run on your 64-bit operating system so you need to either install VMWare or see if Windows Vista has a 32-bit emulator. I too had a very hard time understanding what you said so the communication issues are running both ways here.

It's not really a iTunes problem for say, but that the iPod touch uses a driver to talk to iTunes, and that driver is 32 bit only. All drivers have to be 64 bit to work right in x64 OS. if it was a matter of just iTunes being a 32 bit app that would be no problem you just run it as normal.
