okay so surprinsingly i just hear about the ipod touch today. for the longest time when people said "ipod touch" i thought they were talking about the iphone. anyways, i want to get the ipod touch, but i have a few questions. i can only get the 8gb one because its the one in my price range. butt...
about how many movies can it hold with 4gb worth of space?
when you bookmark a youtube video does it take away space?
is the internet fast?
is it worth the money? or is it over-rated? why?
and, does it seem to have alot of problems? (screen freeze, slow, etc.)

Hi, welcome to iLounge.
The iPod touch comes in two size capacities: 8GB and 16GB. If you had 4GB of space (Which is the capacity of the discontinued iPhone) you would be able to hold about 4 movies (depending on quality and length.)
When you bookmark a video in youtube it does not take up space. It is like having a link to a website, the bookmark just takes you to the video and plays it.
The internet is very fast in my experiences. I was as fast as my powerbook when I compared the two.
IMO it is worth the money. I really love my touch and recommend it to anyone who is looking this type of device.
Most of the problems were fixed with the firmware update. Right now there are little problems and they are generally isolated. If you where to buy now yours should be fine. But as with any product there are always isolated batches that are defective
It was announced September 5th and started arriving in stores on September 13th.

Ya theres msn, aim, and stuff. All you need is a wireless router.

There is not an official chat app for the touch but you can go on web based sites such as meebo.com (http://wwwm.meebo.com/) through safari. As j5tar said all you need is a wifi connection.

I would recommened the iPod Touch for sure, I have an 8Gig Touch myself :)
Like everyone already said internet is great, there are web based chat apps out there, and mine has absolutely no problems with it.
Great buy for sure, its a blast watching movies, listening to music, and surfing the web with.
Just wanted to put in my two cents!

1. Don't know, but probably online you may save a few bucks....literally.

Target has a coupon that will get you about $10 off the purchase with free shipping I believe.

No it doesn't. Just a simple speaker for the clicker etc.
3. will it have updates you can download in the future?
Yes it will have many firmware updates. It has already had 1.

About 4 movies I'd say (with no music on it)
I don't think bookmarking takes much space.
I think the internet is fast.
I believe it is worth the money. It's sleek and sexy, the screen is beautiful and the touch screen is just fun.
Mine has no problems whatsoever!

Some of the early models had screen issues. It's generally accepted the later the week the better. Latest right now is week 39.
