Well,

recently I uninstalled iTunes then re-installed it. Once it was re-installed and loaded up, it began syncing all the songs on my computer to my iPod - and it ended up replacing the playcount I had for ALL my songs on my iPod :(. Now everythings gone from 600+ to like 10.

I was wondering if their is a way to either back up my playcount for next time, or even to edit it?

You need to save a copy of the iTunes database file. This is where iTunes stores your play counts, ratings, sound check values, etc.

The file is in your default iTunes folder and (on a Mac) is called "iTunes Library". On a PC, it's something like iTunes.itl. (It has an itl extension; I don't remember the exact name.)

If you ever re-install iTunes, copy that file somewhere else.
Then replace the new one that iTunes creates when you re-install with your old one.
You'll have all of your settings back.

If you move to a new computer, also make sure you take that file along with your music to keep all of your information.
