i sent my touch back to apple last monday, sep 24 via dhl, and it got to apple and they diagnosed my ipt(week 37/bad screen) on wednesday morning, and it hasnt changed status since. i just called apple, and after 3 attempts, and being on hold for a half hour, the lady said all she knew was that it was in the ware house for final testing. my point is that when i first called, the guy said(last monday) that i would defintily have it by last friday, and now, monday oct 1, it hasnt even shipped yet!!! wtf is up with this.

That's unfortunate. I returned two Touchs and got them back within four business days (sent on Tuesday (9/25) via DHL, received first one back on Thursday and second on Friday).

i just sent 45mins on the phone with apple, and the dumb lady put me on hold for 20 mins(no joke!!) and she went to check with the supervisor(bs) and she asked for my phone number and told me she was going to call me once she finds any thing out!!! she said she would call back by wednesday. does this delay have anything to do with not having any ipt in stock, which i doubt, or are they trying to fix mine cos it is engraved? i am rip sh.it right now.

yup, that's your problem, the engraving.
from what i remember reading, if your ipod is not engraved, they just swap out your ipod with a new (or refurbished) one -- and then throw that in the overnight box to send to you.
with engraved ones, they actually have to take it apart and fix it, so it takes longer.

Doesn't Apple use FedEx instead of DHL? Also, if its an exchange, does it still come from China? Or does it come from within the US?

apple uses fedex for stuff from china, but for prepaid stuff they use dhl, and i think they are gunna give me a new one cos the lady called me today saying they are gonna ship me a replacement real soon, and that apple was aware of the many defects in early production.
