View Full Version : What's The Best Way To Test For A Defective Screen?

I have a week 38 right now, but I suspect that my screen might be defective. When I try to watch movies, there are parts where it seems dark. What's the best way to test for a defective screen besides comparing it to another touch because no one I know has a touch right now. If I go to the apple store, do they have a way of actually testing it?

Search "Jay-Z Black Album" on your touch then compare that with the picture on your computer. There was a website that had a LCD screen test on it but I can't remember what it was, if I find it I will post it.

It's not a hardware problem anymore. I had an extremely defective Ipod Touch and with the new Software update the problems are completely gone and it looks identical to the Iphone screen.

get some color pictures that are solid white, black, red, blue, and green and view them this should show any problems with the screen. you also might be able to find some color test video on the web you can download.

Unfortunately, the Jay-Z "Black Album" cover seems to really test the displays of the iPod touch. I always knew that Jay-Z would be the downfall of us all. But seriously, that album cover seems to be the most used when determining if your iPod touch has a faulty screen as you will either be able to see Jay-Z clearly or he will come out very dark and unclear.

Great little website. ***** BUT ******* Please Please Please be wary. If your happy with the pod don't do it man I tell ya. I was happy and could not see any problem at all. Now I checked for dead pixals, I found the tiniest one in the top corner, which I look for every time now!!!!! AAAAAAARGGGHH!

I got the exact same thing only i didn't just had one...I have over 5 clearly visible and over 20 tiny ones that you don't see as well as the other, but they're there!
