How long from Prepared to ship to actual shipping?

I placed an order for the iPod Touch on the 27th (so really yesterday) and despite the Apple site saying its estimated shipping is 8th to 11th Oct it has now changed to "prepared for shipment" which surprises me.

The 11th is almost 2 weeks from now and I don't see why they would need 2 weeks to prepare to ship it!

So does this mean it may ship at the beginning of next week now? or will they keep it on there so I can't cancel for another 2 weeks? Thanks.

some tocuhs shipped yesterfday (28th) so my guess is that u got lucky and your touch is shipping. My 1 shipped on 28th so i am expecting on Tuesday-Friday of next week. Dont worry u ganna get your touch in around 5 days.

Mine took 4 days to change from prepared to ship to ship. It should update in the next couple days.

My shipment is now showing as "IN TRANSIT TO CUSTOMER - SHIPMENT ON SCHEDULE" with an ETA of October 9th. The invoice shows me that it is a week 38 unit so that is good news.

I am just wondering where in the world it would take over 10 days to get to the UK :shake:

It does however say "SUBJECT TO CHANGE" so here's hoping :rolleyes:
