Speaker not working

I would assume that both speakers on the iPhone would output the same volume but on mine. The speaker on the right side is not outputting any sound when music is being played through it. Anyone have any ideas? Is this defective and should I take it back?

There is only 1 speaker. One side is the speaker, the other the mic.

thank you for clearing that up for me. And damn those apple designers for making everything look so nice and clean and semitrical. lol.
