AT&T Txt Message Question!

I tried to find this out on AT&T's site, and by searching the forums here but nothing came up!

I have the Unlimited Text Message plan from AT&T, but how much does it cost for me to message people that do NOT have AT&T??

it doesn't matter whether or not the people you exchange texts with have at&t service - your plan allows unlimited text messaging with any cell phone. the only time you'll have to pay is if you text people outside of the u.s. i text people on other networks all the time - there is no additional charge for this - these texts simply count against my text message plan limit (i have the 200 text message plan).

you should just dial 611 from your cell phone to call at&t customer service (and it's a free call that doesn't count against your plan minutes) - this would get you answer sooner than waiting to hear from someone on a forum.
