Is it hard to slide your finger across the screen? cause my cousin has a BSE and if i remember correctly it kinda clinged to your finger.

I don't know for sure since I don't have one on my iPhone. I'm sure someone will chime in. If it does have a tacky feel, you should also consider Crystal Film from Power Support. It's super easy to instal and it feels exactly like the silky glass screen. No tack whatsoever.

Would getting a screen protector solve the smudges problem?

I have a quick question as well.
Does the full body shield cover just the front and back - or does it cover the sides as well?

I think it is separate prices for the back and the front. So no I don't think it covers the side. One question I have is does it only cover the screen or does it cover the whole front and have a space for the button on the bottom?

A. i ordered one.
B. My friend has it on the iphone
C. It does not allow smudges which is great
D. you just have to press a SMIDGE harder than without the shield. but you'll get used to it.
E. It covers the entire front, and has a hole on bottom for the home button.
The shield is fingerprint proof, which makes it great and worth it.
I just ordered the front for the Touch, and will brillo the back to make it look like freyed chrome.

no its pretty smooth. Its clear plastic, with a texture that is a little bit grainy, but not noticable to the human eye. Your finger feels nothing different. Instead of it feeling like a glass screen, it feels like a rubber screen, but finger still slides fine. no cling

I have used Invisible Shields on quite a # of my product. I have tried sliding my finger across and works just fine, easier/smoother when you use it more often with the oils from your hands. Much easier to wipe off the smudges then reaching for the microfiber towel every time.

Yeah, mine should definitely be coming in tomorrow for my iPod touch. I highly suggest taking your time and definitely follow the instruction about letting it sit off for 24 hours so it will be smooth and conform to the shape.ß

No, it decreases it.

Well, I just bought a week 38 Touch at Best Buy...the screen looks fabulous, I don't even see any dead pixels! The hardest part is going to be having to wait 24 hours for the Invisible Shield to rest after application.
I really debated over using the shield, since I gather the screen is not as scratch-prone as earlier iPods, but I guess if I decide I don't like it I can always peel it off...and I confess that I am paranoid that somehow I will find a way to scratch that screen...

I ordered a touch invisible shield (full body) but they only sent the front piece. :-( I'm pretty ####ed - I wanted to apply it on the fresh iPod, right out of the packaging. Oh well...

I hate the shield. I just instaleld it now, and it wont stay on the edges. They should have made it a tad smaller so it just covers the ipod screen, and not going over the edge onto the metal/chrome.
I cant get it to stay stuck over the edge becasue I feel that the shield is too big. they should have made it smaller. waste of 15 bucks for me

Try the Power Support Crystal Film. Completely different, preferred by many.

As I said before, you just have to take your time with it and it will take quite a few re-applications.
Here is what I did on mine:
My trick is to get the shield wet, really wet. Apply and align by sliding it(use the button as a guide), then slide the bubbles out, gently at first with the squeegee. Then do the sides where it angles off. If it doesn't want to stay on, let it sit for a few seconds and press it down with your squeegee or fingers. Hold it down for 30 seconds, repeat for all sides. Do the same with the back, I used the power button for alignment.

By putting on the Invisible Shield, does the image on the screen loose any of it "crisp-ness" or detail (i.e. like a picture behind a non-glare pane of glass)? Thanks for the help guys.

I haven't received mine yet but I looked at the instruction videos and you have to hold down the edges for a minute and it will stay on.

Well the common theme in alot of the successfull application of the shieldzone shield has been drench the shield with the liquid included. I cant count the times ive read that for people saying thats what they did and its wonderful product. So what i did? I installed it today and i applied the liquid basically disregarding that it would cause damage to the ipod touch. My result so far, im amazed by the look of it and wasnt expecting it to come out this way. I really expected to have to wait and hope that it turned out good but it looks great right now. So basically if u want it to look good, use alot of the liquid included, and have patience, thats important also.
*By drenching it, i dont mean dumping the bottle on it at once, but dont be scared and thinking " i dont want to damage the ipod, maybe i should only spray once and spread it around with my finger" , doing something like that will probably lead to u ruining it because what i noticed is as the liquid dries u have a much bigger chance of getting it the shield twisted and tied together or streched because its clinging to the ipod.

yeah. I had no patience, and i'm just ####ed that the front piece has to BEND around the edges in the first place. If I knew it would be like that, I would have made my own out of LCD protectors. I thought it would have covered the entire INSIDE screen right up to the molding on the front of the screen, where the metal meets the black plastic. that sucks that it has to go over the bend, which means that its easier to be pulled off or come loose by the edge being caught on jeans, pockets, etc. It should have only covered the front.
####ed.
but whatever, the ipod is scratch proof glass...it only gets smudges, and can be cleaned.
The best thing i've ever purchased is a liquid called "iDrops".
It removes any scratch from any glass you can think of. cell phones, PDSa, and IPODs. I scratched up my hand held gamin nav by putting it loose in the trunk, and after 5 minutes of idrops, it looked brand new. check it out.
google itouch...
i'll check on EBAY for more ipod touch protectors that only cover the front, and dont have to go over the bend.

You still have the warranty, just call them and say the edges didn't stick. They will send you a new one and you just have to send the old one in.

Scratch resistant, not scratch proof. It can and will scratch. My iPhone has two scratches on the screen already and I'm very careful with it.

I was at Best Buy today and when I walked past the phone department I noticed that they had new iPods on display. I've already got my iTouch, a week 38 beauty with a perfect screen, and yesterday I applied my new Invisible Shield. It looks great!
I noticed that the iTouch on display at BB had some very definite scratches on the screen. It can't have been there more than a few days, and the sucker is glued down, so nobody's been carrying it in a pocket or briefcase. Somehow, at least one customer has managed to scratch it. They were not deep scratches but they were very noticeable under Best Buy's bright overhead lights.
So, don't assume the screen is scratchproof....

its scratch resistant. Fine, i'll take back the "proof" and add in the resistant. but still, scratches that you saw at best buy, could have been from kids tampering with it, and using their keys or fingernails to scratch it...etc. They know its a demo floor model, maybe it was done in malicious tone ? but anyway, yes...it can definitely get scratches, but I find it harder to scratch the screen than any other device i have.

You don't need to waste money on an Invisible Shield!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzbxpSwDetk
I've seen this done personally, and the thing didn't scratch. If you have the shield on, you're just being redundant and ruining the touch-sensitivity of the device, not to mention making it look stupid.
Stop being so paranoid. The glass is scratch resistant. It takes a LOT to scratch it.

The Invisible shield is more useful for keeping the BACK of the device scratch free, especially if you don't want to do the whole brilo pad thing to it.
Remember that more than a few of us eBay these things every year or two when newer models come out. $15 on an Invisible Shield that keeps it in like-new condition translates into a higher resale price down the road.

No it doesn't. I used mine without a screen protector for about three weeks. I babied it but it still got one significant scratch and one light one that's hard to spot. Both of these scratches seem to have happened while using the touch screen, now while putting it in a pocket or whatever. As far as I can tell, a minute piece of sand or glass dragged along with my finger produced one large, easily seen scratch along the right side of the screen. The fact of the matter is that it doesn't take much to scratch it, just something harder than the glass itself such as a grain of sand.

Here is the trick. enjoy your iphone/ipod - use it as much as you want. When and if it does scratch, and you cant take it anymore. Use a product called iDrops. It will remove any scratch, no matter how deep in minutes. I used it on my touch, camera, gps, psp. Everything. Its amazing.
Not affiliated with the product, just telling you guys out there that dont want to lose the sleekness of the touch screen, or the response time, use it and enjoy, iDrops will bring it back to new, guaranteed.
google that $hit.

Got my Entire Invisi Shield kit Ordered, Should be in by weeks end. If anyone gets it keep the thread updated on the kit and its installation. Thanks
Oh I got the iPhone screen protector from the apple store - I knew it wouldnt be perfect but I figured it would work until I got the Invsi. Well not only is it not long enough, and have hole in it for the ear piece and nav button. It also is not wide enough. So dont waste your cash even for a temp fix.
