Can anyone get this to work on either the Touch or the iPhone?
I plug it in, it will charge but I can't get my Xbox 360 to recognize my Touch as a portable device. :(
I guess my old 20GB 4G iPod will serve a new purpose until Microsoft releases a dashboard update/Apple enables Hard Disk Mode. :p
and I guess this means the iTouch won't work on the iCarKit I planned on buying for my car. :(

Not surprising since Apple changed the database format in the new iPods and have taken away the ability to use them in disk mode, even on your computer.
My guess would be that we'll be waiting for a good while until MS can get an update out that makes the 360 compatible with the new iPod format since they had to do it without any assistance from Apple the first time around, making it that much harder since I doubt they'll get any help this time either.

Why would Microsoft try and make the iPodT compatible with the 360? They are pushing the Zune+360 thing.

That's kind of like asking why Apple would make Boot Camp so we could run Windows on a Mac. Same reason they made the 360 compatible with the old iPods - 80% market share. ;) The iPod is still the most popular music player, so if adding that feature helps them sell more 360s then why wouldn't they?

Good Point. But I still don't see Microsoft doing that. They want to sell more zunes too.

True, but MS hasn't been real enthusiastic about pushing the Zune in the past, and they still don't seem that excited about it. I'm sure they'd love to see it succeed but I just haven't seen the kind of marketing push it needs up until now. But that's just my opinion. At one time they were also more than happy to let Netscape ship on the desktop of computers with Windows 95 installed when they were still developing IE and we all know how that story ended. So you could be absolutely right.
