It smudges, scratches, dents, (Even the smallest show up). Quite frankly, I'm tired of it. It has gotten old. Apple has something better with the iPhone backing - why wasn't this applied to the Touch?

Step 1:) Take a Sponge with a rough side.
Step 2:) Take the rough side and rub down repetitively on the back of the iPod
Step 3:) Enjoy the new effect.

iTouch is thinner. Something gotta give.

Go ahead, do the steel pad thing as per Hack&Modd forum, or spray it with a clear coat. Will not prevent, but adds resistance.

I've always wondered how dust particles can scratch stainless steel...

Just put a screen protector on it. That's what I did.

You can't screw up with rubbing a sponge up and down.
If you do, you might as well donate your brain for lab tests.

Hmm. I'd make it crooked or something dumb like that.
Haha.
Anyone here had experience with the Invisible Shield? Full Body Shield worth it? Does it cover full ipod (Including sides), or just front and back?

I'm worried about trying the 'brushed metal' look as well. I don't want my sleek device to look tacky.

I detest the chrome backing, it has been ages and they cannot find a better alternative?
Bollocks.

Well either do the brushed metal effect, do a custom paint job, or live with the chrome backing. Simple as that. :p

Dust are tinny rocks. Any more question? :)

Actually it's more like debris.
Dust is mostly made up of dead skin and dust mite feces.

lol His custom rank says he's 'insanely sarcastic'. So I'm guessing that was 'insane sarcasm'.

No - no, of course there is all "kinds" of dust. The kind that scratches contain rocks (dirt blown up from the ground). Dust, like when u hear your Mom says she's dusting (feminine lints and cotton fibbers what not) are not the ONLY kind.

BUT, if anybody is concerned about "dust scratching" a steel surface, all u need is a little steel polisher, which contains, yup u guessed it, a polish compound.

Well I know that, but that's the kind of dust that I call dust. The other kind of dust I just refer to as debris XD.

I had a lot of DEBRIS get caught inbetween my iPod Video and its hard case, and it scratches the metal back. Felt kinda like sand grains.

I say, buy a case when you buy your iPod, if you're so obsessed :p

Isnt it cheaper to use aluminum over chrome? I for one would prefer aluminum or even high quality plastic and so would alot of people over chrome. If it is cheaper then its a no brainer from a business perspective.

The iPhone backing... isnt it kinda like a hard plastic instead of metal? I personally like the look of the iPods chrome backing better than the iPhone backing. Sure it is easier to get scratched, but I guess its just an example of beauty over functionality.

I have always favored a case like Nano2s. Perfect compromise of look vs ez (practically-no) maintenance and sturdiness.
