I have a week 38 that drop-shipped to Best Buy just this morning, and it's perfect.

I had week 37 and the problem was obvious once you see what it's supposed to look like.

There are a couple of people at Macrumors that say they've got bad week 38 iPods. I got one today after having a bad week 36 and a bad week 37.

The week 38 is great.

I think that any bad 38s are flukes at this point and not the norm.

just picked up a 38 at bestbuy and it looks good so far. the black looks okay....planning to add the movie Underworld for a better test. No dead pixels and no hissing on the sound.

how can you tell the week # on your ipod, I got this yellow sticker in the back of my box says RCV DTL 09/17/07

thanks, mine is 9C737, so its week 37, in the bad week section. :( I brought it online not from apple store but vanns authorized apple dealer
can I return/exchange to apple store?

Not all 37s are bad. I'd recommend checking it against a week 38 before investing time in an exchange.

ok, I just ran the Jay-Z album art test, I load it on the ipod touch and on my PSP, ipod touch is terrible can not see anything ( only the label and b/w advisory part shows) maybe turn my head I see something, but on my PSP very clear in all angel, this is bad.

I purchased a week 38 from Best Buy this morning. After comin home and syncing everything, I checked a video, and didn't notice any problems. I love the Touch.

I received my week 38 today, no problems what so ever. I was going to purchase a iPod touch then I read about the bad screens. Now, it seems like Apple has started using better screens. I looked at some of the screen issues and my touch doesn't have them so I think mine is fine.

my week37 picked up on Friday looks just fine to me. i can't tell if it's "perfect" since I don't have a second one to compare it to, but it's black enough blacks for my taste. :D

Quick question about the screen. Just added the Jay'z album what I am suppose to look for? The only thing that I cant see on the album is Jay'z neck. Anyone else? Compare the album on both my notebook and touch and my touch is not looking so good

I got mine from vanns, called them up, they will do a refund for me if I mail it back within 15 days, but I have to paid for the shipping. and they don't have more 16gb in stock. I just have to wait for the next batch.:mad:

Hi Whats the best way to check if you have a faulty display is their a default picture of movie scene to load. Also what level brightness does this happen at.

Just chiming in to report that I got a week 38 from Best Buy this weekend. Looks and works just fine. I'm very pleased so far.

My Week 38 is a vast improvement over the early Week 37 I had.
