Ok so I am looking to purchase an ipod touch but had a quick question about it since I have never purchased an ipod before and am not too familiar with how apple usually operates with stuff like this.
--I was really liking the iphone feature of email and google maps and I have seen some posts saying that these features could be added with a firmware update(do these come out similar to on a playstation 3?). Is this something that is likely to occur or will the ipod touch pretty much be as we see it right now?
--Also similar question to the above about whether or not you will be able to add to the calendar like on a pda?
Thanks for your help/replies in advance.

Nobody here can guarantee it, but most likely these features will be added along with many others. If you look at the screen then there's a ton of open squares just ready to be filled so if you really have to have the mentality that this is more a media player than a PDA. Right now, Apple just seems to be a bit confused on how they should treat the product but I have faith that they'll get it right one day. (Which will literally be one day before they release the next model)

BTW, don't mind the people who tell you that it is unreasonable to expect PDA features in an "iPod". This thing is very much capable of being a top notch PDA and doing just about everything the iPhone can do. So while it holds the iPod name, this is much closer related to the iPhone.
