Just wondering before I go to the store and buy one, how do I check the box and figure out which week it is made in? It seems like the week 38 ones are the fixed units.

The two numbers after 9C7 on the serial number indicate the week.

mine is is 37 and is fine
Mine is 37 also, but seems to be fine... I will go to the store and see what the difference is with a week 38 or newer model this weekend.

I also have 37, mine is fine, no negative black effect nor audio hissing as well.

Mine says 38 after 9C7 and looks perfect.

Same here mines 38 and perfect, so far it looks like apple fixed the problem.

Can you post the full # or whatever of the week 38? Because I check the other thread with the people who have week 38 but the serial numbers don't have the 9C7 thing in front.

Mine starts with "1A737...". (found under Settings / About).

Yep, week 36 exists. And most have said that it's not a good week. Sorry.
