View Full Version : Refurbished iPhone Help
The Touch is a disappointment to me so I have decided to just get a refurbished 8gb iPhone and use it without the plan. I have read up and understand how to hacktivate it to use just the wifi.
My question is should I buy today and get it here before the update or wait out the update and see what happens to the activation hack and native apps? What firmware will the refurb ship with and will I get stuck between firmwares and not be able to use the jailbreak?

Why not buy it and then activate it and then wait to see what happens when others update and if it does break the hack then don't update. The refurbs are shipping with the current firmware 1.0.2, no need to sit on the sidelines waiting to see what will happen when what you want it to do will work now and it doesn't force you to update the firmware.
Thanks cycling, that's what I wanted to know....if the firmware is indeed 1.0.2 then I can use all of Erica's hacks and then just update when they break the next firmware.
I would still like to get the TV Out that the next firmware seems to be bringing but I have faith in our hacker community....

it amazes me how many people are dissatified with their ipod touch. It's a shame too, apple really dropped the ball on this one from the sounds of it.

Where can you get these refurbished iphone? Can you purhase them in apple stores or only online?
