I really didn't know what to have the title as but I have a few questions.
I live in Canada and all these questions are assuming I could actually get an iPhone in the first place
1: I'm 99% sure it is but I'll ask anyways, is it possible to unlock an iphone and just use it as an iPod (and whatever other features it comes with) without having to pay for any plan or any other expense other than the actual phone itself?
2: If I could do that.. would I be able to use it normally WITH a plan for when the iPhone finally comes out in Canada?
3: People keep talking about apple releasing an update making their unlocked iPhones unuseable. Does this mean they would be PERMANENTLY unuseable? or just until you buy a plan or find a way to unlock it again? I figure it would be.. wrong to make it permanently unuseable but I thought I'd ask anyways;p
I'm just in need of a new ipod and a phone. I have both and they work fine but they both suck;p I was thinking about getting an ipod touch and a new phone but that's even more expensive and just not what I want. The iPhone has so many more features than the ipod touch, I'd really just like to .
If anyone else in Canada has an iPhone, please just tell me how you're using it and just general info about it, what you can and cannot do and if you're paying for something or what. I'm just having trouble finding information for all this. Thanks.
