I listen to my iPod all day at work, and with my nano I can puase it in less than a second by pressing the play/pause button thru my pants when it's in my pocket. With the new iPod Touch however, this is going to be a lot harder, if not impossible. Are there any earphones that have a play pause button on the actual earphone cable?

Shure offers a product called PTH - Push-to-Hear. This might fit your needs. This link provides a nice description of the gadget:

The PTH is also compatible with brands of earphones other than Shure, so you don't have to worry about buying another pair.... although Shure offers excellent IEMs....

the apple radio remote will give you the ability to do this, all the basic music controls are on it (play/pause, fast forward, rewind) plus you get FM radio. it comes with a pair of shortened apple earbuds because of the length added by the cord, but it is kind of steep at $50...

Thanks espanoliPod, that's exactly what I needed. I just remembered I have the same thing, but the Griffin version. I haven't used it in a long time. Just tried it out and it's exactly what I wanted.
