will carrycases fit 1st gen?

Hey there,
I was just wanted to ask a quick question.

will the ipod 3rd gen carrying cases, the ones that fold around with the clip and the elastic sides, fit a first gen ipod?
the ones that come standard with 30 and 40(maybe 20) gig ipods.

i don't think so cos the case already fits tightly around the 3rd gen iPods....
