I am new and have never owned an iPod before! I asked for a 4GB Video Nano for my birthday which is next Sunday. How have your experiences been with the new iPod?

See my response to "Should I get one?" I like the 3G, and I'm glad I have it. It's a nice little device--details in the other post.

I also bought the new nano as my first iPod. What I think after having it for a week:
-Size (physical): Wonderfully small. Easily fits in a pocket; I even found I can put it in one of my wallet pockets credit card style. However, playing games for more than half an hour made my hand sore from holding and rotating for so long.
-Size (GB): As an on the go player, 4 or 8 gigs is perfectly fine. Not for you if you want all your music with you all the time. I do not listen to my iPod while walking around all day. I get about 3 hours use a day and its fine.
-Video: I wouldn't recommend for watching full movies, but music videos are great, podcasts and even tv episondes are nice to watch. Resolution is amazing.
-Software: You will need to start using iTunes. No problem if you are already using it. But for someone like me who has never used syncing software for any other mp3 player, it is pretty annoying to get used to. Give my drag and drop anyday. Any iTunes is definitely the most sluggish piece of software on my computer. For all the bad I say, it syncing is fairly easy and painfree. (I just am a do it yourself kind of person and don't like change haha)
Hope that helps from someone who just got their first nano too.
Simon.
