in the settings, it detects the wifi network and lists it under the "Choose a Network..." section. the wifi icon shows full-strength. and i clicked, so it has the checkmark.

in safari, it seems like it doesn't even attempt to connect to wifi becuase it attempts to connect using edge. once i had edge disable by my provider, it simply told me that safarit couldn't connect.

anyone have any tips?

go back to the wifi settings and click on the blue arrow next to the network you're connected to - do you see an IP address, subnet mask, etc.?

no, they are all blank.

no, they are all blank.

then it's not really connected since it's not getting an IP address or anything. i had this problem with my network at home when i first got my iphone. i checked a number of things (my router's network settings to ensure it wasn't closed and distributing IP's the right way, re-entered the wep password on my iphone to make sure it was right, etc.) but nothing helped. so i re-booted my router on a whim and then my iphone was able to connect to it with no problems afterward. not sure why that happened, but it may be worth a try for you.

otherwise, more details about the router you have and its settings could help point us in the right direction to help you...
