Okay, here's my iPhone dilemma that's driving me bonkers...
All the songs in my iTunes library on my computer are all ripped in 320k bit rates. Now, for my nano, what I used to do is re-rip all the songs that i wanted to transfer into a lower bit rate formats to decrease the song's file size, thus allowing me to load more songs onto my limited nano space. Once I transferred the re-encoded songs to my nano, I would delete them off of my computer's hard drive. Not only would this save space on my HD, I wouldn't have a bunch of duplicate songs in my iTunes library. This made me happy.
WELL, with the iPhone's stupid sync requirement, I MUST keep those re-encoded files around on my hard drive, and in my iTunes library in order for the playlists to sync properly. If I delete the songs off my computer's hard drive, I lose all the songs on the iPhone. All this does is take up space and screw up my iTunes library. Not happy.
I hate this. What possible reason could Apple have had for requiring the syncing of playlists on the iPhone???
Has anyone else out there run into this problem, and if so, how do you fix it?
