Hey all. Cavemonkey50 at macrumors.com has started a thread there that has begun to compile basic information about "defective" ipod touches to search for a pattern.

I am bringing this to the attention of this forum so that we can expand the search.

PLEASE, anyone who HAS AN IPOD TOUCH, post the following statistics at
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=355495 if you have an account or here if you do not (please don't post on both, especially if you have a different name):

Most Important:
Version number: (Reported in Settings>General>About>Version) (should be 100a or 101a)
screen quality: a short description would be helpful

Also could prove helpful:
Store (Apple, Best Buy, etc.) purchased:
Beginning of serial prefix: (should be 9C736 or 9C737), the 4th and 5th numbers (we believe) correspond to the week (so you can just post that).

City, State and Location of the Store you purchased it from would be helpful I'd think as well.

Version: 101a
Serial: 9c737
Week:37
Quality: I thought it was fine until I watched a podcast with no lights on last nite. I haven't really used the videos that much. So I do have slight negative black. But in a lit room, it's fine.
Store: Apple at Menlo Park, NJ
