I called Best Buy in Billings, MT and they have iPod touches in stock (8gb and 16 gb). Just wondering if anyone else had heard of any other place in MT or out west having them on hand?

Wow, never expected to see "MT" in the title of any of these posts.
I was just in the Kalispell store, and didn't see anyon display or hiding around, but I also didn't ask (I'm waiting for Costco and the 90 day return policy, and didn't want to tempt myself).
I must admit, I expected Montana to get them in like 2009, so its cool to see that even 500 miles from the nearest Apple store, we've still got... game?

I didn't even know that there was a Best Buy in Kalispell. That's pretty cool. I guess we got game up in MT. Our nearest apple store is how many miles away??? I don't even want to know

Best Buy, Target, Lowe's, Extra Big Costco, Bed Bath and Beyond, Ross, TJ Max, Borders, new theatre with stadium seating, mongolian grill, Famous Dave's, new high school, roundabout (that's throwing people for a loop, pardon the pun), and of course, a starbucks, all showed up on 93 north of town in the past 2 years. Incredible example of suburban boom, and like it or not, I must say that its now the central place people go to shop.
To make this ipod related, north of town is also the only place that will likely carry the ipod touch in its initial release months, with Best Buy, Costco, and Target.
I think in Montana make it within 1000 miles of an Apple store, but unless one lives close to Utah, probably not within 500 miles (so don't complain people from Maine and the like, you're practically next door to them). Not even in Canada (Calgary and Edmonton) are there stores, although with the exchange rate hitting 1-to-1 today, I'd shy away from buying anything up north.

Wild. I'm from Great Falls, MT :). My wife stopped by Target and saw 2 16GB in stock.
What's annoying is that i ordered my iPod Touch from Apple.com 12hrs after it was announced and I still haven't gotten my order...yet they even have them in Target in Great Falls MT...LOL. That's kind of messed up. But it's all for the best because at least I'll most likely get one with a good screen.
