Just picked mine up from Best Buy in San Marcos, CA. 16GB - Screen is excellent, no green tint in my blacks. Compared side-by-side with same video on 6G iPod Classic and 5.5G iPod.
Will post pics when full sync is done.

There IS some "shimmer" in the water on the ground, but it appears to be reflecting the light that's hitting the screen.
IMHO the Touch video quality is MUCH better than the iPod. The color reproduction, clarity and saturation is great. The blacks are much deeper.

Got mine from Best Buy as well. 16G Ipod Touch is working great. No screen or sound issues.
Sweeeeeeeeeet!

I may be wrong here, but from the photos you posted, that looks like the same problem that everyone's having

Not nearly. Look at some of the screenshots people are posting, all of their blacks look awful.

Absoluely. The third image posted of the Touch is displaying the problem really REALLY badly. Those aren't 'deep blacks', they're totally blown blacks - waaaay too deep, no detail, definitely flawed.
I reckon I'm cancelling my Touch and using the £160 I made selling my 80GB iPod video to get a new iPod Classic (which is annoying because I loathe the new curved, matte design of the classic).

Really? Maybe I don't see it...the only place I see something similar is in the water, and it isn't really a black at all...The black is much richer in the shadow and the jacket than on the 6G iPod.

It's not richer - it's totally solid. Look at the top of the man's jacket, o the left side of his body as we look at it. On the old iPod video shot, you can see the texture of the shadows on the material as light falls on it. Look on your Touch - solid black. That's NOT good.
Look on the ground to the left of the man. Those shadows running along what looks like the kerb. They look natural in the iPod. They look totally compressed, hard and featureless in the Touch. Again, not good.
What the hell were Apple thinking???

I see what you mean on the curb (water it appears), however when actually playing back the video it doesn't appear like that (if I tilt it up and look from an angle it does).
I'll try to post a video and maybe it's a bit clearer. What I see looks to be within spec for an LCD. When I see this:

It clearly isn't. That's unwatchable.

Agreed, that is definitely unwatchable. Although the quality of your screen should be similar to that of a 5th/6th gen iPod, which doesnt show the negative colors at all. Im assuming the screen quality should along the lines of the image ive attatched, which is a 5th gen iPod at an extreme angle - no negative effect whatsoever.

That's the thing...it is negative only when watching-only at certain angles (non watchable angles) The colors and blacks look better than the 5 & 6g to me.
