Can anyone confirm that the new Nanos will NOT work on Windows 2000? My mom finally decided to get an iPod with the new nanos, but we only have Windows 2000. Is there any way to get it to work, or are we out of luck?

if you have windows 2000 you cannot use the new iPods with it. you need the newest version of iTunes for them, which is not supported on windows 2000. if you can hold off for a bit i've heard that people (hackers, third party companies, etc. (not apple)) are working on support for the use of new iPods with windows 2000.
