Well...I just picked up my new Touch and I want to access my home network that has WEP encryption. I got it to find the network, but I don't know what to do for the password. I've tried the Passphrase, I've tried the default key, and I've tried the three remaining keys, but it keeps telling me I have the wrong password. In frustration, I turned off security and it works just find.
What am I not seeing here?!
Thanks!

its very simple. I did it in about 3 seconds. you click on the WIFI network it found, and it comes up with a password. you put the same password in as if you were using a new laptop, and needed to get connect.
dont use the keys, use the PASSPHRASE

I wish it were that easy here! Does it have anything to do with the fact my 6-letter passphrase has upper and lower case characters? (I didn't think I was such an idiot, but I'm feeling it now!)

I have a similar problem in trying to connect my home computer to my touch ipod. I see no request for a pass key/password. However, it appears entries may be required for Router, DNS, Search Domains. There also appears that choices for DHCP or BootP or Static may have to be made? :shake: ...... How about some step by step instructions! The online manual is far from sufficient.. ......... thanks!

I see no request for a passphrase and I see no way to make any entry other than using the keyboard......... please explain.
If a lock appears next to the network name then it is detected as being encrypted and will require a passphrase. Otherwise, it should just connect. You shouldn't have to enter any of that other stuff if your router configuration hasn't been customized.

you actually need your router password not the wifi one. To find mine on linksey Iwent to
192.168.1.1 and then under security you find the router passwork, its a long convoluted number/alpha combination
