View Full Version : Tracks skipping on 3G nano?
Anyone else having skipping issues on their new nano? Mine's occaisionally randomly skipping to the next track part way through a track.
Had this problem all the time on my piece of crap 4G iPod, was usually a sign the HD was having issues, which is why I've gone with a flash based iPod this time. But now I'm getting this issue on a flash based one.

hhmmm it happen to me once but on my classic
When i put an album to play from the very first song it skips to the next song
Yeah I had that constantly on my old HD based iPod. It seems to be when it can't read data quick enough it gives up and skips to the next song. Unsurprising it happens with HD based ones, but I don't know why it's happening with my flash based pod.

pull the track off and play it in QT and i bet you hear pops or clicks, im guessing corrupt file

this has been happening to me ALL THE TIME; almost every time i use my nano. i noticed it seems to occur a lot more when i'm using cover flow to browse and select songs. hopefully this will be fixed with a firmware update, because i find this to be extremely irritating.

Nope, it ain't the files. There's no consistency in terms of which will get skipped.
I'll see how things go with this new 1.0.1 update.

UPDATE: i have installed the firmware update version 1.0.1 and i no longer have the problem with the skipping tracks. i do, however, still have the problem that was stated in another thread here about photos showing the thumbnails but not displaying it full screen unless it is in a slideshow, but that is a different story.

I think you nailed it. I have experienced the same skip about 2 seconds into playback on the first track only after selecting the album in cover flow mode. Whenever I use the old fashioned menu select method I am skip free.

Hi, i just purchased my 3G nano bout a week ago and it worked fine up till today. I put in new songs today and at least 2 or 3 tend to skip at different parts of the song. I have tried deleting and resyncing the iPod but the tracks still skip. However, the 'skipping' tracks play fine on iTunes. I am using the latest software update.
Does any1 else have this problem? If so, any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
