you can very easily make a DIY one (http://tinyurl.com/ynqpd6) using a knife, some hotglue and a nice box/container..

summary: sand the bottom of the included dock adapter so the connecticut will fit flush up against it to make a docking area.. then just mount that into/onto almost anything.

the photos (http://tinyurl.com/ynqpd6) are kinda blurry, im going to redo the set this weekend (if i remember)

i dont know what older accessories they will work with, sorry, but i can tell you this..
if you try to use an old cable/accessory that is not supported any more, you might have to reset your new ipod to get it to sync properly even with the new cable.
turned out the it was like it was ignoring dock connections after using an old cable.

ok, that diy dock is AWESOME. i never even thought of using the dock adapter for something like that, that's a great idea. i'm definitely making one of those, i just need to find a box lid of the right size and shape to do it with. nice work!
