View Full Version : I just got my two new FatBoy nanos!

Well I think I may have been one of the first to try to order the nanos (and an 80gig classic) on the online store as the store was having all sorts of problems right after the announcement on Wednesday. But as luck would have it my order went through, they shipped from China that very night, and I just receied all three devices this morning in Vermont!
I got a blue and silver Nano (the silver is a gift). I have to tell you the Fatboy is incredibly slim and looks and feels just SO MUCH BETTER IN PERSON than they do in photos. The thing is a marvel -- incredibly good looking and even cuter and more ergonomic than its predecessor.
These things will sell like crazy -- they're fabulous-looking! Don't go by the pictures -- get your hands on one at a store and you'll see!

I've named mine "Fatboy Slim." Seems to fit the bill perfectly!:D

Congrats. As a 1st gen and 2nd gen Nano user I cannot justify getting this device just for the fact its EVEN smaller, supports video and has a interface update.
I really really wish this came in 16GB capacity or I would have bit..the black one would be mine..if only..
I agree, don't judge these things from the pictures. They do not photograph well. You've got to see them in person. It makes all the difference.

I totally agree. When I saw the first pictures the other day, I thought they were awkward looking and kind of ugly. Then I went to the Apple store on Saturday to buy my new Classic 160. :D They had dozens of new Nanos of all colors on display to play with. They are so much better in person!
After I bought my 160, my 14-year-old daughter and I stayed and played with the Nanos for almost an hour. They are so cool. She has a 1G Nano and I've never had any desire for a Nano (not enough capacity). We both totally fell in love with these little things. I have no need for one but I still really want one. My daughter wants one too, but she'll probably wait for the 16 gig version.
I have big hands and the old Nanos always felt kind of awkward in my hand. Too narrow I think. This new one fits so perfectly. It's so easy to use with one hand. And it really is amazingly small.
And the screen on the new Nanos is just gorgeous. It's smaller but sharper and brighter than my old 5G Video 60. I'd have no trouble watching movies or playing games on it.
And finally, I think I'm in the minority, but I really like the shiny backs on these and the Classics. I never liked the look of the wraparound case of the 2G Nanos much.

I just got my blue 8gb today, I had imagined that these would be so good once you physically got hold of them and I'm happy to say I was right, what a beautiful design. I think the majority of those that didn't like them from the photos will change their minds when they touch one.

Definitely! On seeing the first pictures of them my initial reaction was 'urgh!'. Yesterday, I had to take my Macbook into the Apple shop, faulty ram. While they took it out back to replace the ram, I had a browse and bought a black 8gb on impulse! Fantastic they are, a nice accompaniment to my 60gb 5G and it actually fits in my wallet! Ace.
