I have been using the apple case because I just got my ipod. I have heard alot of people say that it scratches. I was wondering how it scratches the ipod and if it would even be worth using?

Users report that the Apple logo tag sewn into the case tends to scratch the iPod. I don't recommend using it... there are better alternatives available. Check our Gear Guide (www.ipodlounge.com/gearguide.php) and Reviews (www.ipodlounge.com/reviews.php).

If you've been using it, look at the back of your iPod. That will give you an indication of how badly it scratches.

When I got my first second generation iPod eight months or so ago, I put it in the standard case ONCE and it REALLY scuffed up the back of the iPod. Personally, when my third generation model comes tomorrow, I'm tossing the case in the garbage.

The back of mine is fine no scrathes at all but it has scrathed the front and screen quite alot and I've only had it 4 days. I use the softer one.

Yes, the apple ipod case has scratched up the window pretty significantly...Its a bummer because this case is doing the total opposite of what its purpose is for.

The back of my iPod is a little bit scratched up due to Apple case. I've removed the logo cloth from the case. Now I bought another case and have been using it. Better than the Apple case because you have access to all the buttons on the iPod without having to remove the iPod from the case.

I use the apple case all the time. I have some very minor scratches on teh back and guess what WHO CARES!! I'ts a cool mp3 player not a priceless artifact. I take care of my stuff and want it to look good, but I also realize that any portable device will get banged arround a bit just by the nature of it being portable. If you want absolute protection wear your white cotton gloves when you open teh box and take it to be vacu sealed (think CD or DVD cases) then you will have no scratches. Myself I'll take my ever so lightly scratched ipod and use it withot a second thought. When it gets too scratched up I'll just colorware it!
