I've spent about an hour reading every thread that relates to what i want on the forums, and.. i'm officially confused.

So, i figure the best way to suit my exact situation is just ask.

I have a 1999 Mercury Sable and i need a good way to play my ipod through the car stereo, as well as charging it.

Wireless FM Transmitters don't work as well in my car because the antenna is on the back of the car, instead of the front... so further distance to travel.

My brother has this:

and it seems to work alright but still some static.

i'm not really looking to pay another 200 dollars to do it, but i'd like something that sounds good in the car because i have an amplifier and a subwoofer in the car and i don't want it crackling and static-y.

My brother's also saying that using the headphone jack and the bottom output of the ipod sound the exact same, which i'm not sure of but i dunno. i just need help. :p
