View Full Version : iPhone service plan and Company discounts?

What about company discounts (for plan not phone)...

I have been told three different stories. By the way, I have a family plan (2 phones, 1400 mins)...


1) No company discount period.

2) If I make my wife's number the main number (The 80$ out of the 89$). I can keep the discount against the 80 and still get no discount against the 9$ but with the iPhone... then add the 20$ for iPhone data sevice.

3) The No company discount only refers to the 20$ iPhone data plan and phone itself... nothing else. I can keep my discount (less the additional 20$ of course).

This was from three different AT&T folks at three different times.

No, there are zero discounts available. I've asked a few times and everytime I've asked the answer was no. Apparently Apple receives a portion of the monthly fees from AT&T. Because of this, Apple will not let AT&T offer its usual discounts to anyone for any reason.

Also, read the first lines of the iPhone agreement found here: iPhone Terms (http://www.wireless.att.com/learn/articles-resources/iphone-terms.jsp)

"iPhone Terms and Conditions

There are no equipment or monthly service discounts available with the purchase of an iPhone."

Sorry. I guess Apple wants as much as they can get from the iPhone.

Thanks for the reply but I believe you are incorrect (or maybe it's a simple case of semantics) and here is why...

After being told by the last AT&T person (No. 3 from above) that I can keep my company discount for my service plan only, and not hearing from anyone here, I called back AT&T and asked to speak with a manager who confirmed the discount was still valid.

In an attempt to clarify...

My Company discount is good for my AT&T service (minutes, ie 69.99 for 700 minutes) plan only.

The discount is NOT Good for The cost of the phone nor the iPhone data plan.

I hope that makes sense.:)

I hope that's true.

I could really use the discount that I get from my workplace. I guess I'll have to call a few times like you until I can get that % off.
