View Full Version : Best Cassette Tape Adapter?

I've been using the Maxwell cassette adapter for a couple of years now, and, personally, I really love it. I agree it does sound muffled, but IMHO, the bass makes up for it for me. Recently, the cord got a small cut, and whenever I put it into my car, the sound only comes out of the right-side speakers. I went into Fry's today and bought the Phillips cassette adapter. This one sounds great; it's clear and nice. However, the bass is noticeably weaker than the Maxwell.
Other than those two, I haven't tried any other adapters, but I'm on the lookout for any better ones. Does anyone know which one is best overall?
Thanks

Not to say that they aren't out there, but you probably won't find too many people using cassette adapters anymore, especially to give you a comparison of more than one at that. Maybe you can look online to see what adapters are still available and look at the frequency response for each. Another solution is to purchase an equalizer or amplifier (if you're willing to spend extra) to give you the sound you're looking for.
