Evidently it was moved since it is advertising which is not allowed on the forum.

Did you read what Honeybee said? She said it was advertising and not permitted on ilounge. So if you post it it will not be ok.

But is it really advertising if you say google "iphone ringtone maker" and it's the 2nd result of your search?

By the same logic couldn't you say that any talk about iPhones at all (or iPods, or virtually anything you have to pay for) isn't allowed because it's advertising for the product? The thread in question was definitely a "hey, come buy my software" type of thread, and I can understand why it's gone. But to not allow other people to mention it defeats the entire purpose of these forums.
The developer of the software is welcome to submit his service as a news item for possible inclusion on the main site but we have rules regarding posts of a possible commercial nature.
We have had instances of astroturfing and false recommendations by numerous companies trying to use the forums to gain business or increase their profile and even lying about competitors products.
marilicious0118 has had the reason the original post was removed explained. Also tj8212 has been posting links to this ringtone maker on other forums so as far as I am concerned he has registered here for the purpose of posting spam.
