Hi,

Basically I have my my iPod in my car console with the audio/power connected through the dock. (the audio is coming from the aux on my stereo, connecting to the car chargers input (3.5mm)

(so I am getting audio and power through the dock and NOT using the headphone jack)

I want to have it so when I start my car it will automatically start playing a song, and when I turn off my car, the ipod pauses.

Is there anyway I can get this functionality? it would just convenient to not have to take my ipod out of the console and pause it every time I get out.

I am using a 5.5 gen iPod video.

Thanks!

Auto-pause, plenty. Auto-start, if one exists, gonna cost ya an arm&leg plus u don't want it anyways. Never been blasted by the dang thing?

How to pause when the power is cut off?

does it depend on the actual charger/dock connector I use?

There are some chargers, like the Belkin with a line out connection, that will pause the iPod when you turn off the power. I don't think any will start it on power-up though.

The actual functionality is done by a resistor between one of the pins and ground, so if you're into DIY you can build your own.

Not sure exactly what you're asking....

My ipod is hooked up to an ipod2car. Everytime the truck is turned off...it goes into PAUSE mode. The only way to get it out of pause is to use the ipod or flip through all the MODES (AM,FM,CD, Etc) and get back to CD1 and it'll start playing.

I wanna know if there's an easier way to get it out of pause mode...but then, that's probably an ipod2car issue.
