I noticed that iPhones are selling like hotcakes on ebay right now. I just called my local store and they still have some in stock. I'm thinking I could pick up a couple and turn a nice profit. Does anyone have any idea about the availability of the phones? Is it rare that my store has them in stock?

Just trying to guage the availability around the country.

I don't think they will sell out at all

towards Christmas maybe but no need to pay $1500 on ebay.

So do you think it's too late to make a quick profit from the ebayers? I personally don't need a $600 phone right now, but I'm wondering how many people out there need one so bad that they'll pay $900

definitely on ebay you'll easily get $900 for an iPhone

just hope its not your first ebay sell ever like some people are finding out the hard way

they think wow I'll Buy 2 iPhones and sell 1 on ebay but since they have never sold on ebay before and its their first sell they have no rep no rating so no one will buy from them whooops.

I dont know how reliable this is, but for those 71 people spying on this site :p, go here:

http://www.apple.com/retail/iphone/

You can check the availability for the iphones there, all of those still have a green light (which means it's still avaiable), so stop paying double/triple on ebay.

Are auctions actually finishing at that price or is that the average that people are asking? Near as I can tell, the eBay market for iPhones is soft at best.

There seems to be rather spoty information, which seems more implied or innuendo as to whether thay are selling out the stock of iPhones.

I live in a smallish town in central PA, and got in line at an AT&T store last evening @ 5:45. I left the store at 6:15 with an iPhone. I was number 23 in line, and there were about 10 people behind me.

I am tempted to stop by tonight to see if they sold out or not.

Does anyone know where we can get reliable information as to whether they are sellin g out or not?

They don't have iPhone stores in Jupiter. I totally forgot about it until I logged onto iLounge today.

I just bought two of them tonight, but of course, it looks now like the ebay market has cooled off. I have 14 days to return them, so I'll keep my eye out in the next 3 or 4 days to see the action.

Thanks for all the help.

Not a sellout not a flop

in the end your buying a phone that in an emergency takes about 3 actions to make a call

and an ipod

They planned on selling 1.5 million and sold 2, but haven't sold out yet. They still have a lot of them at most apple stores. Doing an ebay on this is a bad idea.

Idiots.

the prices seem to have died, going for a little less than $600-700 now. I saw a person win an 8 gigger for $431!

There were about a hundred people lined up at my Apple Store yesterday. I got mine this morning, and they still had about fifty.
