I have both the dension icelink and rpm store audio link. Anyone know if they work with the iphone?

FYI, it works like a champ. Volume in car turns down and rings through car speakers.

Awesome.

Your saying it works like a champ, but with which one? I am considering getting an iphone but the only things holding me back is how it will work in my car with the icelink ihave installed. Any information you could provide would be great. Like, do steering wheel controls still work? Is there any problem with GSM noise when using it in the dock in the ice link? Do you have to put it into airplane mode? How does it fit in the dock?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Found this on an Audi website.
Disappointing it doesn't really work as planned with the Icelink, but its good to know that I can charge my phone with it. Saves me a couple bucks from buying a car charger. And its a pretty good idea with the google maps thing.

hmm interesting.
thats an icelink plus. Mine is aa early version of the icelink so it is not the plus. Does the plus use on screen ipod interface? If so, that might be why it wont work

"Control the iPod with head unit and steering wheel keys in Dension or iPod user interface mode" -from the icelink plus webpage.

what is that? my icelink can be controlled using my steering buttons but only for next/back functionality, and it displays nothing on the ipod screen other than what the ipod would display if it were not plugged into anything. I have read that pretty much all ipod accessories that used some kind of programming to display information on the ipod display will definitely not work.

With the IceLink, you can either have it in Dension mode, which is terrible, or iPod mode. Dension mode is simply a set of playlists that you create on itunes, and then it only plays those playlists, not your entire library. Ive never even bothered using it. The Icelink doesnt have any sort of phone capabilities, so theres no chance of the iphone being able to work in it, other than as an ipod.

And...I tried it today. No luck. lol

my icelink doesn't even have those two modes. its the very first icelink they released. literally just plug it in and you have a line out connecting to a line in on my head unit, plus the sterring wheel buttons work as next/prev and thats it.
