The brand new 4-day old iPod my awesome boyfriend got me does not get recognized by my PC anymore. It worked great the 1st day we set it up (6/2/03). If it does recognize it, it is for only about 10 seconds, then doesn't recognize it again. I am using Windows XP (also just installed) and EphPod. MMJB is not on my computer in any form. Has anyone experienced this problem and gotten though it? Advice/help/anything is very much appreciated. Thanks!!!!

Could you define the problem a little more? What do you mean by "recognize it"? Is it not mounting? Does it show up as a drive? Can you see your firewire card in the device manager? Etc...??

i dont' mean to steal the thread but my sister is looking to buy a ipod for her boy friend and this seller on ebay doesn't state wether his 20 gig ipod is a 2nd 3rd or 4th generation, he says it doesn't work with 98 but it will with xp i'm thinking 3rd or 4th but i'm not sure any help would be appriciated thx
