My wife and I always used ProClip USA's custom car holders (http://www.proclipusa.com/) for our different gadgets - PDAs, mobile phones, our old 4G Photo iPods - over the years. They've always been high-quality, durable, and secure. So when we bought our Nanos, choosing ProClip's "Padded Holder with Tilt Swivel" for them seemed a no-brainer.

Unfortunately, the durability seems to have evaporated with the introduction of this product. See the tiny little tab in the lower right of the holder? That wafer-thin bit of plastic is the only means of supporting the Nano's weight. After a month, it broke off the holder in my wife's car. That holder was replaced free of charge, however, the replacement has suffered the same fate after only two weeks. And worse, the holder itself has somehow contracted, and now the iPod no longer fits in it

The holder in my car also "contracted" after three weeks - again, the iPod no longer fit. Additionally, the base of the holder somehow disintegrated into about a half-dozen pieces - not during use, but while my car was parked  I'm still waiting to hear back on the replacement on that item.

Which means I'm looking for an alternative to ProClip USA. They clearly have developed issues of design, material selection, and quality control (not to mention customer service). What are my choices - one's that are not "universal" and/or do not use cupholder inserts?
