iPhone widescreen keyboard

One thing I was wondering:

Why didn't apple make it possible to turn the iPhone, and use a wider keyboard where it would be much easier to type, since the keys could be bigger?


Or is this a feature that I've just missed?

I also just READ in that article that's that only possible when using Safari. :P

I was hoping the landscape mode would work everywhere. The wide keyboard is perfect for typing especially when you have to do a lot like when composing an email. Entering a URL doesn't take much typing especially when you're using bookmarks most of the time.
