Ok, so I don't really listen to my ipod in my car, as I'm ok with using the cds, and anymore cables in my car and my kids could possibly tie each other up and hold one another for ransom.

But! I travel a lot with my job in the summer. Virtually every rental car I've had has an auxiliary plug in slot, so I know I can use my ipod. What kind of cable do I need to purchase? Obviously I wouldn't need the FM transmitter, but can I get the auxiliary cable separate from the transmitter? Does it hook into the headphone out jack? Yes, I need help.

Thanks!

You'll need a 1/8" to 1/8" stereo cable.

Are you asking about ipod or iphone? I ask because I can not get any of the 1/8 - 1/8 aux cables that I have to work with the iphone because the jack is recessed. I can not seem to find one with a longer male jack on one end anywhere either (not even Apple)... if someone knows where to find one let me know.

Thanks!
