I understand Apple would rather not have you use USB 1.1... Has anyone had any issues using it?

Personally I am rather stingy and would rather not have to get a special USB port for my ipod.

But why exactly?

And basicly I just need a USB 2.0 HUB right?

That's not true. You can use USB 1.1 if that's all you have. It'll be slower, but it'll still work. USB 1.0, on the other hand, will not charge the iPod because USB 1.0 does not provide power to the connected device.

In short:
USB 2.0 - preferred
USB 1.1 - slower transfers, but still works
USB 1.0 - will transfer data, but not charge the iPod

Don't think so, 2-poster.

USB1.1 works just fine as BWH says, just sloooowly.

How stingy can u be? USB2 boards can be had for $15 bux at eBay. If u can live with the slow speed, hey, whatever. USB2 hub? NEGATIVE. U didn't say Mac or PC, but am guessing a PCI board is a PCI board, and yes $15 bux, everyday, eBay.

Meh... guess your right. Any suggestions on what kind of PCI card I should get?

I am planning on the LACIE 107435 USB-2.0 PCI Card.
